Hafush (Hapus) Mango Plant

The most popular variety of mango in India, which is also a major export, is Hapus or Hapus, popularly known as Hapus. The best variety of Alphonso mango is from Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.

This product does not have the flowers and fruit at the time of shipping. Afterward, the plant will bloom and develop fruit.
Mangoes are usually grown from healthy 2 to 4 feet tall (.6 to 1.2 meters) nursery trees.

A mango is a juicy stone fruit produced from tropical trees belonging to the flowering plant genus Mangifera, and family Anacardiaceae, cultivated mostly for their edible fruit and it is originated in India. The Alphonso is a seasonal fruit, available mid-April through the end of June.

The skin of a fully ripe Alphonso mango turns bright golden-yellow with a tinge of red which spreads across the top of the fruit. The flesh of the fruit is saffron-colored.

• Choose the sunniest spot in your garden and dig a 12-inch deep hole.
• If the plant is slightly bigger, then dig a slightly deeper hole.
• Also, prepare the soil with fertilizers and plant feed before planting the tree.
• Plant the tree deep and then pack the soil.
• However, make sure that the soil is loosely packed to enhance water absorption.
• Kesar mango trees thrive under direct full sunlight, hence choose the sunniest spot in your garden.
• The plant thrives in aerated, loamy, moist well-drained, fertile, and rich soil.
• Remove the deadwood and take care of the thinning of the growing jackfruit tree.
• If the tree is bigger, make sure to dig a larger hole.
• Make sure the roots of the plant are damp but not too wet.
• Prepare the soil with Nitrogen fertilizers before planting the seeds.
• Water the soil immediately after using the fertilizer.
• Knock off the old soil from the plant root by removing all rotted and dead roots.
• While repotting, it’s preferable to do it during the evening and keep the plant in a shady area for a min 2-3 days before moving it to the ideal location and climate.
• Water the plants frequently in summer, reducing the frequency in winter and rainy season.
• In case of insect or pest attack, use Eucalyptus oil, Neem oil, or Citrus oil spray for the primary treatment.

Planting is usually done in the month of July-August in rained areas and during February-March in irrigated areas. Planting spacing should be 10 X 10 m. Dig pits of 1 m x 1 m x 1 m. Fill in with topsoil mixed with 10 kg of FYM.

Mango delicious taste, excellent flavor and attractive fragrance, it is rich in vitamin A and C. The tree is hardy in nature and requires comparatively low maintenance costs.
